A KNIGHT IN THE CITY
for Plaion
To launch Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, a game celebrated for its brutal realism, a standard ad campaign just wouldn't do. The launch needed to feel as authentic and unscripted as the game itself. The challenge was to create a real-world story that would stop people in their tracks—both on the street and in their social feeds.
For Plaion, the goal was to craft a launch moment that embodied the spirit of the game.
Our concept, "One Knight in the City," was built on pure authenticity. We dispatched a knight in full armor on an unscripted quest through Stockholm. With a documentary crew in tow, we followed her journey from the moment she picked up the game at a local Webhallen.
WORK INCLUDED
1. Concept & Idea development
2. Content production
We captured her trek through the historic Old Town and out to the suburbs, filming the genuine, comedic, and curious interactions as her medieval world collided with modern city life. The quest culminated in a surprise hand-delivery to two of Sweden's top gamers, all done in collaboration with partners like Webhallen and Xbox.
By ditching the script and embracing reality, we created a powerful and engaging narrative that felt more like a mini-documentary than an ad. The content perfectly captured the game's immersive spirit, generating authentic buzz and a launch moment that was impossible to ignore. The unscripted approach delivered a level of realism and humor that resonated deeply with the target audience.
